Logo features the words 'alere' in large, green, playful font and 'collective' in a smaller, similar font. There is a decorative illustration of a small branch with five red tomatoes with green stem on the right side of the text. Hannah Repton.

Alere means “to nourish”, and that’s at the heart of our practice.

We see nourishment as more than food, and we believe recovery is possible. We are Accredited Practising Dietitians, and we are here to help you learn to nourish yourself in the way that is best for you, build body trust, and create peace with food and body.

Why see a dietitian?

Seeing a dietitian is about so much more than being handed a meal plan. Many people come to us because their relationship with food and their body feels complicated. This might be from growing up around diet culture, hearing unhelpful messages about weight, struggling with mental health, dealing with sensory challenges, or feeling pressure from sport, family, or social media. All of these experiences can make eating feel stressful instead of simple.

A dietitian can support you to:

  • Untangle your relationship with food and body

  • Work through the barriers that make eating well hard

  • Feel more confident about what and when to eat without diet rules

  • Sort food facts from misinformation

  • Set small, realistic goals that actually fit your life

  • Explore the emotional side of eating and find new ways to cope

  • Move towards food freedom and body acceptance

In a world full of confusing nutrition “advice”, a dietitian offers safe, compassionate, evidence-based support to help you feel nourished, confident, and at peace with food and your body.
